Five Ways to get a Fast Start in 2010

Five Ways to get a Fast Start in 2010

As unbelievable as it sounds 2010 is basically over. When you started the year you set important goals to reach. If you are on target to achieving your goals, A VERY SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS!

If not, it is very important to determine exactly why you are not meeting your goals. Then, even more important, take specific action steps to make certain that your time, talents and abilities are properly focused on the results you desire.

Whether you are on target to reach your goals or lagging behind, it is important for you to focus on what you can do more of (and even less of) in in 2010 to achieve your goals.

Successful people consistently ask themselves the following questions: “What is it that I want to achieve?” And “What can I do to attain it?”

The following are five keys to get a fast start in 2010:

FAITH (You must believe achieving your goals and dreams is possible)
COMMITMENT (You must commit yourself to see that your goals become real)
PREPARATION (A good plan is the foundation for your goal achievement)
IMPLEMENTATION (Your plan will never work unless you implement it)
MASSIVE ACTION (You must take consistent massive action until your goal becomes reality)
If you are not growing as fast and as successful as you would like to, it is vital that you SET NEW GOALS TODAY. So, take 15 minutes today and write down everything you want to achieve in 2010 . Select your top five goals and write them on a 3×5 index card and place them in an area where you can review them every day. Then, put a simple plan together, and launch toward making 2010 your best year ever.

  • Matt,
I love www.SimpleTruths.com and recommend to everyone. Have most your books. My favorite is "Finish Strong" including the video.Finishing strong is so important because it gives you confidence and momentum going into the new year.

Feel free to use any of the postand I'd love to collaborate with you and team on future projects. Also, I just posted this months Gameplan newsletter on my site www.billycoxinternational.com with a Thanksgiving message and a "Champions Creed".

I encourage everyoune to " Get in the Game ... Make every moment count!" Here's a great quote I heard today from Tom Hophins : "TODAY... you have 100% of your life left."

    Much Success

  • Followed you here from Twitter... and this article reminds me of my Nehemiah study in the Old Testamament. Nehemiah took the mission to heart and worked his people skills, focusing to the end of the task and finished strong. Way to go!!!
  • Here's a couple of quotes I found in the book Finish Strong published by http://www.simpleTruths.com .

" Great Beginnings aren't nearly as important as the way one finishes " Dr James Dobson

"I have Fought a good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7

May your greatest achievements be in front of you and may you always Finish Strong.
  • Another great one, Billy. We have a saying around here, "Finish Strong", which is the title of one of our books. The point is that the last few time periods of the game, month, etc. are going to be some of the most productive, and to find success it's imperative to follow through at the end.

We are doing a "Finish Strong" week in December... would it be okay to use one of your posts? Or, perhaps, would you be interested in some writing collaboration?
